Fernando, God used the shadow of your wings to minister to me and my wife. It brought a peace that surpases my understanding as we held our daughter in our arms. We do not understand why God wanted our daughter. But I know that he is sovereign, faithful, unchanging, and full of peace. Fernando, I wanted to let you know what a blessing your music was to my Mom in the last weeks of her life. She had pancreatic cancer and passed away on Saturday. I played your Hymns of Worship and Shadow of Your Wings albums constantly for her. She wasn't communicating much with us in her last days but when I would ask her if she was enjoying hearing Fernando sing to her she would get a big smile on her face. Your music brought peace and calmness to her. Your song, I Will Praise Him, Still especially ministered to me during this time. Fernando! So excited about the Christmas CD! Don't know if this had anything to do with it or not, but I signed the guestbook around New Year's day 2008 and asked when you were going to make a Christmas CD. I said you already had a beatiful start: Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence. And it's on there! So I'll go on thinking I was the one who inspired you. HA!! Now if that were true, it would be so ironic, considering that you have inspired me and my family (and blessed us, of course) for so many years. My wife Cathy, who at the time was 8-months pregnant, and I met you after your concert at the Cove (Billy Graham's place) in Asheville, NC in May of 2007. The whole evening was such a foretaste of when we all gather at the River and sing God's glory together. Hey, on that day, maybe we'll all be able to sing as beautifully as you!
