The five hours we waited for the Dr., my husband played the music from The Shadow of Your Wings. Still when I hear it I have the sweet memory of the Lord being with me while my tiny girls were about to be born (they are perfect and wonderful btw). You have made more of an eternal impact on my life than any other Christian artist in the past, present, or future. After attending your concert in Wichita, KS in the spring of '02, my husband and I, with the blessing of our 6 biological children, felt the Lord's leading to adopt a child who needed a loving and godly home. When we experienced a failed adoption placement 10 months later, "If You Were Mine" ministered the Lord's peace and comfort to me. I had no idea you had written it after a failed adoption, I just knew it spoke to my heart and helped me bear the overwhelming grief I was feeling. 10 months later we were very blessed to welcome a 13 month old baby boy with Down Syndrome into our hearts and home, and the Lord's plan finally made sense. In '07 the Lord blessed us with a second baby boy with Down syndrome. His Christian birthparents chose our family to adopt him after they watched a powerpoint presentation of our family in which I used "If You Were Mine" as the background music. And finally in Oct. '08, the Lord completed our family of nine children with a precious baby girl with Down syndrome. Through your ministry, our family has been forever changed and blessed beyond our wildest imaginations, and thank you will never come close to expressing my deep and heartfelt appreciation. Fernando: Almost two years ago I wrote to thank you for escorting me through nursing school. Sooner than I could have imagined I am serving Hospice patients and their families. I have included many of your CDs in music therapy. Recently I cared for a Spanish speaking gentleman. He was kind to embrace my C- Spanish speaking. I played Camino Largo for him two days in a row. The nurse who followed me told me that when she went in he lifted his head and smiled and said, "Musica." "¿Bueno?" she asked, using the only Spanish word she says she knows. He nodded and smiled again closing his eyes. She told me that he passed away twenty minutes later, Camino Largo playing softly in the backround. God is good. 11/23/2009 - Powhatan, VA

Hello Fernando! I saw and heard you at CHRIST CHURCH in Oakbrook, IL a couple weeks ago! I was there to see the World Vision program, and to be honest, I had not heard of you before. After seeing the World Vision program I sat down to listen to your concert. Song after song, it was such striking poetic imagery in worship!!!! Songs I had not heard in a long time, songs heard in church last week, songs I'd never heard."changing tides in half moon days"??? - wow! I have not had a chance to learn exactly what that means with regards to the position of the earth and moon, but.that song knocks me out!! I purchased your HOME cd, and in 2 weeks these songs are already woven into my own life! I love PASS ME NOT especially, and at the concert PRAISE TO THE LORD THE ALMIGHTY. I really like SHE'S MY ROSE too. I enjoy the fiddle in that one, plus find the piano -cello blending a style of true beauty! Is VIRGINIA about a child? In any case please accept me as a new "fan."
